Air blast TNT equivalence concept for blast-resistant design

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2020
Abstract Trinitrotoluene (TNT) equivalence is a well-known concept, which has been extensively employed by the engineering community for the blast-resistant design of structures. It is invoked to predict the blast parameters generated from detonations of other types of high explosives.

Analysis Of Blast Resistant Structure

IOSR Journal of Mechanical and Civil Engineering
The response of reinforced concrete buildings subjected to blast loading under variable mass of TNT and different statical system will be discussed. The study was carried out using the finite element program (ABAQUS) by using solid slab model. The plastic behavior of steel reinforced bars and concrete has been incorporated.

Resistance to Blast in Hybrid Rice

2000
Rice blast caused by Pyricularia grisea (Cooke) Sacc., is one of the most important diseases both in irrigated and upland rice ecosystems, in Brazil. Low durability of the blast resistance has been a common factor for all cultivars released so far to farmers.

Blast resistance of structural members

IABSE Reports, 2007
<p>This paper gives a brief overview of the current status of specific resistance design strategies of structural systems against car bomb blast and focuses further on load-carrying behavior and failure modes of loadbearing structural key elements. The axially-loaded column is chosen for structural response and resistance capacity analysis.

Blast-resistant control buildings

Structural Safety, 1988
Abstract The paper discusses control buildings in industrial plants that may be subjected to severe blast overpressures caused by a nearby explosion. The subjects covered are: current loading requirements; safety considerations; design philosophy; choice of structural concepts; and materials and their behavior in dynamic conditions.

Lineage-Exclusion Resistance Breeding: Pyramiding of Blast Resistance Genes for Management of Rice Blast in India

2000
By MGR-DNA fingerprinting analyses, we identified 29 lineages of Magnaporthe grisea among rice blast pathogen population in Southern India. The population structure of M. grisea in different states of India was also characterized by a Pot2-based rep-PCR method.

Blast resistance of laminated glass

2008
The aim of this thesis is to improve the understanding of the behaviour of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) laminated annealed glass façade panels subjected to blast loading. A full scale blast test was performed. During this, deflection and strain data were collected employing digital image correlation techniques (DIC).

Blast Race Monitoring for Stable Use of Blast Resistance in Rice

2009
Differential systems of blast races based on the gene-for-gene relationship between host and pathogen were established in Japan by Yamada et al. (1976) and Kiyosawa (1984), and blast race monitoring was conducted nationwide in Japan in 1976, 1980, 1994, and 2001 using these systems.
