The Trichinella Super‐Pangenome Reveals the Evolution of Encapsulation and Predicted Host–Parasite Protein Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Short-delay blasting in underground coal mines

open access: yes
"The Bureau of Mines has conducted research to determine whether the total elapsed delay time for blasting bituminous coal in underground mines could be safely expanded beyond the present 500-ms limitation without igniting a methane or methane-coal dust ...

Blasting-Related Carbon Monoxide Incident In Bristow, Virginia [PDF]

open access: yes
In the past several years, there have been a number of blasting-related carbon monoxide migration incidents. In each case, there have been some common factors that appear to be related to carbon monoxide migration. Geology, heavy confinement of the blast,

Research on the development and performance of new high-brisance emulsion explosives

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study developed a novel high-brisance emulsion explosive containing sodium borohydride (NaBH4). The effects of NaBH4 content on the performance of the emulsion explosive were investigated using methods such as brisance, detonation velocity, air ...

A Novel CsYABBY3‐CsAS1 Feedback Loop Coordinates Trichome Differentiation and Cannabinoid Biosynthesis in Cannabis sativa L.

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel transcriptional module involving CsYABBY3 and CsAS1 is identified to regulate cannabinoid biosynthesis and trichome development. These factors mutually activate each other and form a protein complex via a conserved residue, acting synergistically to amplify metabolic flux through a coordinate feed‐forward mechanism.

Mechanosensitive Piezo1/Osteocalcin/Irisin Axis Protects Against Disuse‐Induced Muscle Atrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical unloading suppresses bone Piezo1 expression, which reduces circulating undercarboxylated osteocalcin (unOCN). unOCN reduction subsequently exacerbates IMM‐induced Fndc5/Irisin decrease and drives severe muscle atrophy. Bone Piezo1 activation or exogenous osteocalcin/Irisin ameliorate muscle atrophy, while muscle‐specific Gprc6a or Fndc5 ...

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.
