Aggregation of german cockroach (Blattella germanica) nymphs

Experientia, 1968

Oöcyte Development in Blattella germanica and Blattella vaga (Blattaria)

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1962
In these oviparous cockroaches the corpora allata are inhibited while the female carries its ootheca, and consequently the oocytes fail to mature. The inhibition of the corpora allata is due to nervous stimuli that result from the presence of the egg case in the oothecal chamber, which are transmitted via the nerve cord to the brain.

Glycine catabolism in Blattella germanica (L.)

Journal of Insect Physiology, 1965
Abstract Glycine-U-C 14 was injected into the body cavity of German roaches and the catabolism of the amino acid was studied. At the end of 5hr, during which C 14 O 2 was collected, the soluble and insoluble fractions of the body were obtained and further separated by column and paper chromatography.

Spatial Orientation in Blattella germanica L. Larvae

Ethology, 1994
AbstractThe aim of these experiments was to investigate the type of cues used in homing processes by young Blattella germanica L. larvae. Several types of stimuli were tested: path integration with kinesthetic cues and visual orientation with landmark cues. Tests measured the escape direction of larvae from the food box after disturbance.
