Gaussian Processes for Blazar Variability Studies [PDF]
This article briefly introduces Gaussian processes as a new approach for modelling time series in the field of blazar physics. In the second part of the paper, recent results from an application of GP modelling to the multi-wavelength light curves of the

Early Detection of Multiwavelength Blazar Variability
Blazars are a subclass of active galactic nuclei with relativistic jets pointing toward the observer. They are notable for their flux variability at all observed wavelengths and timescales.

The Relation between Simulated Multiwavelength Blazar Variability and Stochastic Fluctuations [PDF]
Blazars exhibit multiwavelength variability, a phenomenon whose underlying mechanisms remain elusive. This study investigates the origin of such variability through leptonic blazar emission simulations, focusing on stochastic fluctuations in ...

Optical variability of the blazar 3C 454.3 during 2007-2010
The optical variability of the blazar 3C 454.3 during 2007-2010 has been studied using the results of multicolor (BVRIJHK) observations. The existence of two variable synchrotron sources was found.

Variability of Blazars and Blazar Models over 38 Years [PDF]
Since 1978, when BL Lac objects and violently variable quasars were married to become “blazars”, physical interpretations of the phenomenon have evolved.

Regulatory T Cells and Nanomaterials: Dual Perspectives in Therapeutics and Immunomodulation. [PDF]
Tregs control immune tolerance but can also enable tumor escape. Nanomaterials can now expand or stabilize Tregs to treat autoimmunity and support transplantation or conversely disrupt tumor Tregs to boost antitumor immunity. We also discuss unintended Treg modulation by nanoparticles, safety and manufacturing challenges, and future translational ...

The Nature of γ-Ray Variability in Blazars [PDF]
Abstract We present an in-depth and systematic variability study of a sample of 20 powerful blazars, including 12 BL Lacs and 8 flat-spectrum radio quasars, applying various analysis tools such as flux distribution, symmetry analysis, and time-series analysis on the decade-long Fermi/LAT observations.

Sporecasting Biogeography Across Scales: Continental Patterns and Local Constraints on Macrofungal Dispersal. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Understanding how aerial fungal diversity varies across space, habitat, and disturbance is key to linking local‐scale sporocarp (fruiting body) reproduction with continental‐scale biogeography. In this study, we combined passive spore trap metabarcoding with macrofungal sporocarp records from 31 plots in eight sites across North America to ...

The results of both BVRI CCD photometric monitoring and fast photometry for 8 blazars and variable quasars are presented. There is intraday variability for 6 blazars and very short timescales (minutes to two hours) variability for 5 objects. Implications for relativistic beaming are briefly discussed.
