A path splitting and pruning strategy on list decoder for PAC codes

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 18, Page 1292-1299, November 2024.
The paper introduces a novel low‐complexity list decoding algorithm for polarization‐adjusted convolutional codes. By incorporating path splitting and pruning strategies based on highly reliable information bits, our algorithm significantly reduces decoding complexity while maintaining optimal performance.

Do Board‐Level Employee Representatives Increase Pay Equity in Firms?

open access: yesCorporate Governance: An International Review, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 1110-1132, November 2024.
ABSTRACT Question/Issue This study investigates the role of board‐level employee representatives (BLERs), a common corporate governance practice in Europe, in determining the pay ratio between CEOs and average employees. Research Findings/Insights Using 15,340 firm‐year observations from 17 European countries between 2001 and 2019, we find that BLERs ...

Performance analysis and optimization of UAV-assisted NOMA short packet communication systems

open access: yesICT Express
In this paper, we propose and analyze an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) short packet communication (SPC) system, where finite-size data packets are transmitted from a UAV to multiple users.

A coding scheme to force the eavesdropper falling in error avalanche

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 10, May 2024.
This paper explores the challenges posed by eavesdroppers in wireless physical layer security and proposes a novel wireless channel coding scheme. The scheme induces an “avalanche” of errors in the eavesdropping channel, maximizing the eavesdropper's bit error rate.

An optimal calibration factor for mutual information effective SINR mapping scheme in 5G NR

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 7, April 2024.
This letter provides an accuracy of CQI selection according to the equalization scheme in the 5G NR receiver. In addition, an optimization of the MIESM scheme is performed to obtain an accuracy of CQI selection for the 5G NR receiver. As the optimization results, the optimal value of calibration factor is proposed in this letter.

Low‐density algebra‐check codes for ultra reliable low latency communications

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 8, April 2024.
A novel channel code, the low‐density algebra‐check (LDAC) code, is introduced in this letter. LDAC code is constructed by combining sparse matrice with algebraic constraints from two types of subcodes. Detailed explanations for the encoding and decoding process of the LDAC codes are provided in the paper. Simulation results demonstrate that LDAC codes
