Blood mixtures: impact of puncture site on blood parameters
Journal of Comparative Physiology B, 2016Various puncture routes, veins, arteries, heart, are used to take blood in animals. For anatomical reasons, differences in blood composition are expected among puncture sites. However, this issue has been rarely assessed and contrasted results have been reported: strong effects of puncture site versus a lack of effect.

Thixotropic parameters of whole human blood
Thrombosis Research, 1976Abstract The rheological property of 8 samples of whole blood from healthy adult human subjects was studied with a Weissenberg Pheogoniometer, modified with a continuously variable speed drive. Experimental data showed a hysteresis loop in the shear stress versus the shear rate plot and a torque-decay in the shear stress versus the shearing time plot

A study of blood coagulation parameters
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1976The object of this study was to determine the presence or absence of abnormalities in a variety of blood coagulation parameters in women on contraceptive medication. A prospective double-blind study involving a control group with a total study enrollment of 211 women during a 29 month period was established.

Biochemical blood parameters in pigs
Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, 1992SummaryA study on heritabilities for 20 biochemical and immunological blood parameters was performed based on blood samples from pigs at a performance testing station belonging to the Norwegian Pig Breeders' Association. The heritability estimates for the blood parameters varied considerably.

Study on blood constitutive parameters in different blood constitutive equations
Journal of Biomechanics, 2000A method is proposed to study the steady blood constitutive equation (BCE). With the method several BCEs are tested and Quemada, Bi-exponent and K-L equations are found to be well in agreement with the hemorheological characteristics of human and canine blood and these equations may be well used in hemorheology and hemodynamics.

Osmotic parameters of red blood cells from umbilical cord blood
Cryobiology, 2014The transfusion of red blood cells from umbilical cord blood (cord RBCs) is gathering significant interest for the treatment of fetal and neonatal anemia, due to its high content of fetal hemoglobin as well as numerous other potential benefits to fetuses and neonates.

Blood Bank Quality Control: I. Whole Blood Parameters
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1972A statistical analysis of 250 donor units of whole blood for net weight, hematocrit, specific gravity, erythrocyte volume and weight, plasma acid-citrate-dextrose volume and weight, leukocyte count (per cu. mm.), and absolute leukocyte content (per unit) was undertaken.
