Blood Pressure, Blood Flow and Intraocular Pressure

open access: yesOphthalmic Research, 1974
(1) A rise of blood pressure by steps between 80 and 180 mm Hg mean pressure did not cause an increase in intraocular pressure under the conditions which are mentioned above.

Blood Pressure Measurement in SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial)

open access: yesHYPERTENSION, 2018
Recent publications have stated that the blood pressure (BP) measurement technique used in SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial) was unattended. However, the SPRINT protocol does not address the issue of attendance.

MET and NF2 alterations confer primary and early resistance to first‐line alectinib treatment in ALK‐positive non‐small‐cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.

Estimating coupling directions in the cardio-respiratory system using recurrence properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The asymmetry of coupling between complex systems can be studied by conditional probabilities of recurrence, which can be estimated by joint recurrence plots. This approach is applied for the first time on experimental data: time series of the human cardio-respiratory system in order to investigate the couplings between heart rate, mean arterial blood ...

Comparison of methods of automatic blood pressure measurement in the same device [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Comparison of tacho-oscillographic and oscillometric methods for human blood pressure measurement with cuff occlusion in the same device at the same time is described. For this purpose the measurement system and software for signal processing that realize these methods in the same device was developed.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Endothelin-receptor antagonist can reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension: a meta-analysis

open access: yesBlood Pressure, 2017
The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the effectiveness and safety of endothelin-receptor antagonist (ERA) in the patients with hypertension. Searches of the PubMed, EMBASE, and CENTRAL databases were conducted to include all the randomized control
