Two-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis and Mass Spectrometry in Studies of Nanoparticle-Protein Interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Over the years a number of epidemiological studies have shown that PM from combustion sources such as motor vehicles contributes to respiratory and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.Especially so do the ultra-fine particles (UFPs) with a diameter ...

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.

Eletroforese das proteínas do líqüido cefalorraquidiano na cisticercose do sistema nervoso central

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 1960
In order to analyse the paper strip electrophoresis contribution to the knowledge of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteins in cysticercosis of the central nervous system (CNS) 40 patients were studied (identification data in table 1); the clinical forms and

Engineering Nanoplatforms for Alzheimer's Disease Detection via Biomolecular Corona Proteomic and Lipidomic Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered nanoparticles capture disease‐specific biomolecular coronas that uncover hidden molecular features of Alzheimer's disease. Combined proteomic and lipidomic analyses reveal a characteristic shift in ribosomal machinery and energy metabolism, generating a multiomic fingerprint that supports accurate disease detection and opens new ...

Identification of screening biomarkers for chromosomal anomalies and pregnancy-related disorder using quantitative plasma proteomics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Due to the risk associated with invasive procedures, a large research effort has been expended to the development of risk free alternatives. Current results indicate that we may be approaching the long sought goal of Non-Invasive Prenatal Diagnosis (NIPD)

Lipid Nanoparticle Co‐Delivery of mRNA and a Small Molecule Drug for Oral Cancer Chemoimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐encapsulation of p53 mRNA and the small molecule ciclopirox within a lipid nanoparticle yields an all‐in‐one chemoimmunotherapy for oral squamous cell carcinoma. The platform engages caspase‐driven apoptosis in cancer cells while repolarizing tumor‐associated macrophages, achieving tumor reduction in both p53‐susceptible and p53‐resistant models and

Negotiating in a Foreign Land: Understanding the Curious Interactions Between Intracellular Mitochondria and Internalized Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Therapeutic nano‐drug delivery systems interact with cellular mitochondria in a multitude of ways. While the complexity of such interactions disrupts the mitochondrial electron transport chain and increases reactive oxygen species production, thereby contributing to nanoparticle toxicity, they also present unique theranostic opportunities in diseases ...

Proteomic Identification of the MYST Domain Histone Acetyltransferase TIP60 as a Coactivator of the Myeloid Transcription Factor C/EBPα [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The transcription factor C/EBPα is a key player in granulopoiesis and leukemogenesis. In the present study, we sought to identify C/EBPα interacting proteins.
