Viral Infection‐Inspired Autonomous Detection of Fusion‐Competent Viruses for Screening and Environmental Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by viral entry mechanisms, the FUSION assay enables autonomous detection of respiratory viruses via membrane fusion–triggered CRISPR‐Cas13a activation. VEACON selectively fuses with fusion‐competent viruses, triggering fluorescence within confined vesicles.

Film cooling characteristics of squealer tip of a turbine blade

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
The high-speed and high-temperature gap leakage flow in the turbine blade tip clearance directly scours the tip of the rotor blade and generates a local high-temperature region, so the active and passive control of the gap leakage flow is very important.

Monolithic 3D‐Integrated All‐Solid Ion‐Gated Carbon Nanotube Transistors With Tunable Ionic Conductance for Multi‐Timescale Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐timescale reservoir based on monolithically 3D (M3D)‐integrated CNT solid ion‐gated transistors is demonstrated. Tunable ionic dynamics and pulse‐engineered operation enable linear and symmetric synaptic updates. The M3D‐integrated array achieves robust temporal encoding and accurate classification of moving MNIST sequences, highlighting its ...

Aerothermal Characteristics of Trailing Edge Region Film Cooling on a Nozzle Guide Vane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Maintaining the trailing edge of the first stage high-pressure nozzle guide vane (NGV) in high-temperature regions (̴ 2200K) is always a challenging task compared to the other locations.

Study on the effect of waveform film holes on film cooling efficiency

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
In order to improve the film cooling efficiency of the cooling gas on the hot side wall of the plate, the flow field, temperature field and the average film cooling efficiency of the cylindrical hole, rectangular hole and waveform hole near the wall were

A Super‐Adhesive Air Filter With Capillarity‐Mediated Spontaneous Particle Absorption via Dynamic Bond Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We address the inherently weak particle adhesion of conventional air filters by coating a dynamically crosslinked adhesive layer that delivers capillarity‐driven strong adhesion and particle absorption mediated by dynamic bond exchange. The resulting enhancement in particle adhesion enables efficient ultrafast (up to 20 m s−1) and omnidirectional ...

Comparative Numerical Study of the Influence of Film Hole Location of Ribbed Cooling Channel on Internal and External Heat Transfer

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The influence of film-hole position on internal and external heat transfer was investigated using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). A simplified geometry of an integrated configuration of a ribbed channel, film hole and mainstream passage is modeled to

Effect of blow moulding ratio on barrier properties of polylactide nanocomposite films

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2010
Abstract Results are presented of an investigation of the effect of blow moulding ratio of a nanocomposite polylactic acid (PLA) film, containing (i) a montmorillonite (MMT) nanofiller or (ii) MMT and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a modifier or (iii) MMT and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as a plasticiser, on transmission of water vapour, oxygen ...

Stabilizing Electrochemical Interfaces With Multifunctional Cobalt Nitride Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Cobalt nitrides emerged recently as an interesting class of earth‐abundant oxygen evolution catalysts. Herein, plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition is used to synthesize multifunctional cobalt nitride layers that simultaneously protect and catalytically activate photoelectrode surfaces.
