Craniogenetic studies in Sus scrofa: With emphasis on the ‘orbitosphenoid’ problem

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract The orbitosphenoid is a skeletal element of the endocranium of extant mammals. However, it has also been described in many of their fossil ancestors. Craniogenetic studies show that it is composed of two types of bone: first, the cartilaginous ala orbitalis and parts of the trabecular plate are transformed by endochondral ossification; second,

Trajectories of unsecured debt and health at midlife

open access: yesSSM: Population Health, 2021
Background: Unsecured debt — debt not tied to an asset — is a financial stressor that undermines health, but prior research has not investigated relationships between group-based trajectories of unsecured debt and pain and disability at midlife. Methods:

Ti3C2Tx MXene‐Zirconium Diboride Based Ultra‐High Temperature Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of Ti3C2Tx MXenes as additives in ultra‐high‐temperature ceramics (ZrB₂), enhancing densification, reducing oxygen content, and improving mechanical properties. Through surfactant‐free electrostatic self‐assembly and spark plasma sintering, MXenes enabled the formation of a core–shell microstructure, resulting ...

Injectable and Sprayable Thermoresponsive Hydrogel with Fouling‐Resistance as an Effective Barrier to Prevent Postoperative Cardiac Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Postoperative cardiac adhesions lead to numerous difficulties in reoperation procedures. Here, a thermo‐responsive in situ formed hydrogel is shown to can reliably cover the wounds after a convenient spraying or injection and significantly reduce adhesion formation in primary and recurrent cardiac injury adhesion models.

Influence of catalytic wall on the effective radius of a blunt body geometry in a nonequilibrium hypersonic flow

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
The effect of the surface catalycity on the effective radius of a blunt body geometry in hypersonic flow is numerically investigated. The blunt body geometry is defined in terms of a body radius with variation in both nose radius and the corner radius ...

Oxytocin‐Mediate Modulation of Splenic Immunosuppression in Chronic Social Stress Through Neuroendocrine Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic social stress elevates oxytocin levels, leading to immunosuppression by enhancing regulatory T‐cell activity and promoting anti‐inflammatory macrophage polarization in the spleen. Blocking oxytocin signaling reverses these effects but worsens stress‐induced behavioral disorders and reduces survival rates. This highlights oxytocin's dual role in
