Factors Influencing and Steps Leading to the Adoption of Best Management Practices by Louisiana Dairy Farmers [PDF]

open access: yes
A logistic regression procedure was used to assess the impact of socioeconomic attributes on the best management practices (BMPs) adoption decision by Louisiana dairy farmers relative to cost-share and fixed incentive payments.

Sclerostin Is an Osteocyte-expressed Negative Regulator of Bone Formation, But Not a Classical BMP Antagonist

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 2004
Sclerosteosis, a skeletal disorder characterized by high bone mass due to increased osteoblast activity, is caused by loss of the SOST gene product, sclerostin.

Wireless Bioelectronic Modulation of Membrane Potential in Glioblastoma Using Carbon Nanotube Porins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic illustrating glioblastoma cell membrane modulation using carbon nanotube porins (CNTPs) and an applied voltage. CNTPs enable ion flux leading to changes in membrane potential. This figure summarizes the concept of bioelectronic control of cell membrane voltage.

Mitochondrial CircRNA CircMT‐RNR2 Safeguards Antioxidant Defense to Support Fibroblast Functions in Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CircMT‐RNR2 promotes wound healing by enhancing fibroblast proliferation, migration, contraction, and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. It sustains mitochondrial redox balance by stabilizing the antioxidant protein PRDX3, thereby reducing ROS‐induced damage. In diabetic foot ulcers, hypoxia, hyperglycemia, and reduced FGF2 and EGF expression lower

Risk and Nitrogen Application Decisions in Florida Potato Production [PDF]

open access: yes
This study focuses on development of agricultural best management practices (BMPs) for potato production areas in Northeast Florida, and presents the results of the initial situation assessment. BMP implementation is the primary strategy used by agencies

Noggin-mediated antagonism of BMP signaling is required for growth and patterning of the neural tube and somite.

open access: yesGenes & Development, 1998
Embryonic patterning in vertebrates is dependent upon the balance of inductive signals and their specific antagonists. We show that Noggin, which encodes a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist expressed in the node, notochord, and dorsal somite ...

Comparative Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas Reveals the Genetic Regulation of Reproductive Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cross‐species single‐cell transcriptomic atlas of reproductive and central nervous system tissues from sheep and humans reveals conserved cellular programs and regulatory networks that regulated fertility. Integration with GWAS for sheep lifetime average litter size identifies UNC5–SLIT–BMP signaling as a core pathway coordinating neuroendocrine ...

Noggin depletion in adipocytes promotes obesity in mice. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
ObjectiveObesity has increased to pandemic levels and enhanced understanding of adipose regulation is required for new treatment strategies. Although bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) influence adipogenesis, the effect of BMP antagonists such as Noggin ...

Arginine Methylation Antagonizes TEAD3‐Mediated Repression to Promote Osteogenic Differentiation by Disrupting RUNX2‐Sequestrating Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the unmethylated state, TEAD forms stable, repressive condensates that sequester the osteogenic master regulator RUNX2. Arginine methylation of TEAD at R55 acts as a molecular brake, dissolving these condensates to release RUNX2 and activate the osteogenic program.

Nitrogen‐Boosted H2O2 Production of Arginine‐Polyphenol Nanozyme Drives Oxidative Eustress for Hair Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PEA nanoenzymes are assembled from L‐arginine and EGCG. The nitrogen element in arginine enhances the thermodynamic feasibility of H2O2 production through PEA's oxygen reduction catalysis, enabling nitrogen‐dependent H2O2 release. Intradermal delivery of PEA via microneedles promotes efficient H2O2 synthesis, thereby stimulating regrowth in telogen ...
