Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Preliminary Study for the Possibility of using Infra-density to determinate the Density of Medium Density Fiber Board (MDF) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This investigation has established the possibility of using Infra-density to determine the density of medium density fiber board (MDF). The statistical analysis has proved that there is a high significant correlation between the values of density and ...

Preliminary Investigation of the Suitability of Chasmanthera Dependens (Hosct) and Waste Paper for Production of Cement-Bonded Composite [PDF]

open access: yesPro Ligno, 2017
The physical and mechanical properties of cement bonded board produced from Chasmanthera dependens and waste paper was investigated in this study. Boards were produced at 50:50, 60:40 and 70:30 levels of blending proportions of paper-fiber by weight ...

Characterizing Particle Board Made of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch Using Central Composite Design

open access: yesMakara Journal of Science, 2018
Particle board was made using processed oil palm empty fruit bunch and casein glue. This research used two factor variables and eight response variables to determine the best matrix/filler ratio and compression pressure for particle board production. The

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Investigation of Electromagnetic Gauges for Determining In-Place HMA Density, Final Report; TR-547, May 2007 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Density is an important component of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement quality and long-term performance. Insufficient density of an in-place HMA pavement is the most frequently cited construction-related performance problem. This study evaluated the use of

High-speed board-to-board interconnects utilizing flexible foils and elastomeric connectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents a board-to-board interconnect technique utilizing elastomeric connectors and parallel microstrip lines on a flexible foil cable with low dielectric loss (tandelta = 0.002). It is shown that a pad structure combined with an elastomeric

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
