Decoupling Analysis of a Sliding Structure Six-axis Force/Torque Sensor

open access: yesMeasurement Science Review, 2013
This paper analyzes the decoupling of a sliding structure six-axis force/torque sensor, which is used to measure the interactive force between surgical tools and soft tissue for the establishment of soft-tissue force model.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Side force control on slender body by self-excited oscillation flag

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2016
Strong asymmetrical vortices appear on the leeward of slender body at high angles of attack, which has very unfavorable effect on the stability and control of the aircraft. A method is developed to control the side force of slender body at high angles of

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Body-fin interference on the Magnus effect of spinning projectile in supersonic flows

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2017
The numerical simulations of flow over a spinning finned projectile at angles of attack ranging from $ 4^\circ $ to $ 30.3^\circ $ in supersonic conditions were carried out to investigate the flow mechanism of the Magnus effect. The finite volume method,

Identification method of excitation force of rigid body vibration source by physical model identification

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
This paper proposes identification method of excitation force of rigid body vibration source by physical model identification. If the reworking occurs after the assembly of the prototype in mechanical product, the cost increases due to the retrofit ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Validation of analytical body force model for actuator disc computations

open access: yes, 2020
A new analytical model for representing body forces in numerical actuator disc models of wind turbines is compared to results from a BEM model. The model assumes the rotor disc being subject to a constant circulation, modified for tip and root effects ...

Nonlinear modeling of FES-supported standing-up in paraplegia for selection of feedback sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents analysis of the standing-up manoeuvre in paraplegia considering the body supportive forces as a potential feedback source in functional electrical stimulation (FES)-assisted standing-up.
