Forms were drawn on the palms, forearms, or biceps of 42 subjects, with vision excluded. Subjects were then required to make a visual match to the drawn forms. It was expected that the accuracy of form recognition would be a direct function of the sensitivity of the receptor surface.

Thirty-five Ss were tested on a specially constructed force platform for body balance activity resulting from visual perceptions of 10 simple line drawings. No relationship was found between direction of movement on the platform and the direction depicted by the line drawings.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate own-body perception in body dysmorphic disorder(BDD). People with BDD perceive one or more aspects of their appearance to be aesthetically defective or grossly unattractive, even though their appearance is typically judged by others as normal.
