Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Phenotypic Correlation Between Body Weight and Linear Body Measurements of Savanna Goats

open access: yesAndalasian Livestock
The study investigated the relationship between body weight and linear body measurements to develop a model Savannah goat farmers will use to improve the body weight. The study was conducted at Bosveld Game Breeders using 60 goats of both sexes (7 bucks and 53 does).

Measurement errors in body size of sea scallops (Placopecten magellanicus) and their effect on stock assessment models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Body-size measurement errors are usually ignored in stock assessments, but may be important when body-size data (e.g., from visual sur veys) are imprecise.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Automated body weight measurement using computed tomography

open access: yesScientific Reports
Computed tomography (CT) images provide detailed information on tissue composition and density. Body weight estimation from CT can be highly relevant in emergency and forensic contexts where conventional weighing is impractical or unavailable—for example,

Correlation Between Body Measurements of Gazella marica Fawns After Weaning and Estimating Body Weight From These Measurements

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakultesi Dergisi
This study aims to find out for the first time the change in body measurements of gazelle fawns from birth to weaning and the estimation of live weight based on body measurements (BW, BL, CC, CD, AC, SH) of a total of 42 fawns, 17 female and 25 male, taken after birth, and a total of 30 fawns, 15 female and 15 male, were taken after weaning.

Asymmetries arising from the space-filling nature of vascular networks

open access: yes, 2015
Cardiovascular networks span the body by branching across many generations of vessels. The resulting structure delivers blood over long distances to supply all cells with oxygen via the relatively short-range process of diffusion at the capillary level ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
