Explosive, oscillatory, and Leidenfrost boiling at the nanoscale [PDF]
We investigate the different boiling r\'egimes around a single continuously laser-heated 80 nm gold nanoparticle and draw parallels to the classical picture of boiling. Initially, nanoscale boiling takes the form of transient, inertia-driven, unsustainable boiling events characteristic of a nanoscale boiling crisis.

Physics-based reduced-order modeling of flash-boiling sprays in the context of internal combustion engines [PDF]
Flash-boiling injection is one of the most effective ways to accomplish improved atomization compared to the high-pressure injection strategy. The tiny droplets formed via flash-boiling lead to fast fuel-air mixing and can subsequently improve combustion performance in engines. Most of the previous studies related to the topic focused on modeling flash-

Lattice Boltzmann modeling and simulation of forced-convection boiling on a cylinder [PDF]
When boiling occurs in a liquid flow field, the phenomenon is known as forced-convection boiling. We numerically investigate such a boiling system on a cylinder in a flow at a saturated condition. To deal with the complicated liquid-vapor phase-change phenomenon, we develop a numerical scheme based on the pseudopotential lattice Boltzmann method (LBM).

Entropy and the Tolman Parameter in Nucleation Theory
Thermodynamic aspects of the theory of nucleation are commonly considered employing Gibbs’ theory of interfacial phenomena and its generalizations. Utilizing Gibbs’ theory, the bulk parameters of the critical clusters governing nucleation can
