Quantitative Proteomics Analysis of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) Reveals Molecular Basis-Associated Auxin and Photosynthesis with Bolting Induced by High Temperature

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2018
Bolting is a key process in the growth and development of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). A high temperature can induce early bolting, which decreases both the quality and production of lettuce.

Toward More Autonomous Soft Robots: Development and Characterization of a 3D‐Printed Pneumatic Contact Sensor for a Six‐Legged Soft Robotic Walker

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article introduces a fully 3D‐printed, electronics‐free sensory system for a six‐legged soft robot, enabling adaptive responses such as obstacle detection and directional changes using pneumatic logic gates. The design demonstrates efficient, robust operation through rapid sensor feedback and autonomous functionality, highlighting new ...

Integrating robotic systems in underground roof support machine

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Safety
Traditionally, the roof bolting process is performed manually by skilled workers, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. This often exposes human operators to several risks.

Plant characteristics for distinction of red chicory (Cichorium intybus L. var. silvestre Bisch.) cultivars grown in central Slovenia

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2004
Eight red chicory (Cichorium intybus L. var. silvestre Bisch.) cultivars were screened for plant characteristics, yield, resistance to Erysiphe cichoracearum and their persistence of bolting over a two-year period (2002 and 2003 growing seasons) in ...

Rock bolt supporting factor: rock bolting capability of rock mass

open access: yesBulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, 2017
Rock mass classification has played a crucial role in underground construction and mining projects in the past fifty years, especially the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and Rock Tunneling Quality Index (Q) systems, which have been applied in many cases.

A Robotic Urinary Bladder Enabling Volume Monitoring and Assisted Micturition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An implantable robotic bladder is presented that can store urine in an origami‐designed enclosure. An inductance sensing principle can monitor and transfer the urine volume in real‐time. It can actively expand based on the amount of urine collected from kidneys and apply on‐demand mechanical compression to assist urination.

Histomorphological changes in shoot apices of Lactuca sativa treated with gibberellic acid

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2011
Lettuce plants were treated with gibberellic acid (GA3) and uniconazole (UZ; a gibberellin synthesis inhibitor) to investigate the influence of GA3 on cell division frequency in the shoot apical meristem (SAM) during stem elongation and flower initiation
