Behaviour of FRP-to-concrete bonded joints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The bond behaviour between FRP (fibre-reinforced polymer) and concrete is a consideration in the design of FRP strengthening mechanisms for structurally deficient or functionally obsolete concrete structures. In the past, a number of empirical models and

Adhesion characterization of tungsten mine waste geopolymeric binder. Influence of OPC concrete substance surface treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Tungsten mine waste mud (TMWM) was investigated for its potential use as repair material of ordinary portland cement (OPC) concrete. Bond strength between OPC concrete substrate and three repair materials was analysed.

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Naked cuticle is essential for Drosophila wing development beyond Wingless signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Naked cuticle (Nkd), a Wnt signaling inhibitor, assumes extensive roles in Drosophila wing development. Overexpressing Nkd causes smaller, crumpled wings, while also perturbing multiple signaling pathways and developmental genes. A specific region (R1S) is critical for Nkd's function as a signaling integrator, offering new insights for studying its ...

Bond behavior of fiber reinforced polymer bars under direct pullout conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper examines the behavior of Eurocrete fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars (glass, carbon, aramid, and hybrid) in concrete under direct pullout conditions.

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Bond Stress Analysis Between High-Performance Steel Fiber Reinforced Mortar and Deformed Steel Bars Under Pull-Out Test

open access: yesFibers
Despite increased utilization of high-performance mortars in construction, there remains a paucity of research concerning the bond performance of steel reinforcement, particularly within masonry structures.
