Joint Reply to `Maternal-Infant Bonding: A Joint Rebuttal'
Pediatrics, 1983To the Editor.— It is clear that there is some disagreement about the effects of early skin-to-skin contact, and these issues are discussed below. We want to underscore, however, that there is no disagreement about the laudable humanization of birthing practices that Klaus and Kennell helped bring about.

Bonding strength in structural adhesive bonded joint
Metals and Materials International, 2001Adhesive bonding has emerged as a unique and highly developed joining process with applicability to a wide variety of engineering materials. Because the stresses of adhesive bonded joints are distributed much more uniformly than mechanical fasteners and many welds, they can be used to improve fatigue resistance and to join thin or fragile parts.

Maternal-Infant Bonding: A Joint Rebuttal
Pediatrics, 1983Inaccuracies in Lamb's recent review1 of studies of maternal-infant bonding have resulted in considerable confusion and misunderstanding among those not well acquainted with the field. This rebuttal, prepared by the investigators whose works were sited, addresses these inaccuracies so that a fuller and more productive discussion of this area of study ...

Coupling effects in adhesive bonded joints
Composite Structures, 2002Abstract This paper presents the use of a newly developed unified approach for the analysis and design of adhesive bonded joints that takes into account the effects of asymmetric laminated adherends to study the influence of coupling effects in the adherends of adhesive bonded joints.

Novel Design of a Bonded Lap Joint
AIAA Journal, 2001A new design of a single-lap joint was proposed and investigated experimentally. In this new design, load eccentricity as well as singular peel stresses in the joint interface were avoided. In fact, numerical calculations show that, in the new design, the peel stress becomes compressive in the joint end region, and the shear load is more evenly ...

Analysis of Bonded Joints in Vehicular Structures
AIAA Journal, 1973Abstract : A linear elastic finite-element analysis is used to evaluate the behavior of an adhesive joint bonding a boron/epoxy composite to a metallic substrate. The adhesive layer is treated as a separate elastic medium of finite thick-ness in order to remove the stress singularity that exists when dissimilar materials are joined.
