Understanding the Effect of Resistance Temperature Detector Temperature Controllers on Microstructural Alignment in Magnetic Freeze Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

Density and strength distribution of the subchondral bone plate of the canine talus

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
IntroductionThe subchondral bone plate plays a critical role in load transfer across joints. Its density distribution reflects the joint’s loading history, and variations in density are likely associated with changes in the material properties of the ...

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

The Effect of Alendronate Treatment on Bone Density and Bone Markers in Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

open access: yesTürk Osteoporoz Dergisi, 2002
The objective of this blind, randomized controlled study was to evaluate effect of 12 months alendronate treatment on bone mineral density (BMD) and bone formation, resorption markers in postmenopausal osteoporotic women. Women with BMD values at least 2
