Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.

Molecular Palaeontology Prospects From Exceptionally Preserved Eocene Brackish‐Water Bivalve Batissa sitakaraensis (Venerida: Corbiculidae) From Hokkaido, Japan

This study reports the exceptional preservation of the Eocene freshwater bivalve Batissa sitakaraensis from Hokkaido, Japan. Multimodal analyses reveal that both the aragonitic shell mineralogy and the delicate organic periostracum retain their original structural and chemical characteristics after millions of years.

Materials and Music: Selective Imperfection as a Generative Framework for Analysis, Creativity and Discovery

Vibrations in matter, from spider webs to molecules, water to flames, share a grammar with music. We propose that creativity emerges when constraints force expansion beyond existing possibilities. Selective imperfection restores balance, enabling invention.

The Sector Liquidity Timing Ability of Bond Mutual Funds

ABSTRACT We investigate whether bond mutual fund managers exhibit market liquidity timing skills in the U.S. corporate bond market. At the portfolio level, we find only weak evidence that bond funds adjust their overall market exposure in anticipation of changes in corporate bond market liquidity.
