Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Mesenchymal stem cells and their use as cell replacement therapy and disease modelling tool. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from adult somatic tissues may differentiate in vitro and in vivo into multiple mesodermal tissues including bone, cartilage, adipose tissue, tendon, ligament or even muscle. MSCs preferentially home to damaged tissues where

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

A case of abdominal sarcoidosis in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The allogeneic bone marrow transplantation usually preceded by induction chemotherapy, in fit patients, represents the gold standard in the acute myeloid leukaemia.

Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Profilin 1 Negatively Regulates Osteoclast Migration in Postnatal Skeletal Growth, Remodeling, and Homeostasis in Mice

open access: yesJBMR Plus, 2019
Profilin 1 (Pfn1), a regulator of actin polymerization, controls cell movement in a context‐dependent manner. Pfn1 supports the locomotion of most adherent cells by assisting actin‐filament elongation, as has been shown in skeletal progenitor cells in ...

Molecular mechanisms of skeletal tissue formation

open access: yesJournal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, 2013
Vertebrate skeleton consists of numerous pieces of bone and cartilage, each placed at the appropriate anatomical site by an elaborate regulatory process in developmental patterning.

Developmental disease associated to jaw bone tumors : from 2 models keratocystic odontogenic tumor and Cherubism

open access: yes, 2015

High LRIG1 expression predicts lymph node metastasis in patients with uterine cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Lymph node status is crucial in determining treatment for women with early‐stage cervical cancer. We demonstrate that high LRIG1 protein expression in primary tumors can predict lymph node metastases. Our findings support further investigation of LRIG1 as a biomarker to improve staging accuracy and guide treatment decisions in cervical cancer patients.

Regulation of Osteoclast Differentiation and Skeletal Maintenance by Histone Deacetylases

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Bone is a dynamic tissue that must respond to developmental, repair, and remodeling cues in a rapid manner with changes in gene expression. Carefully-coordinated cycles of bone resorption and formation are essential for healthy skeletal growth and ...
