Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Abstract This study aims to investigate the effects of the position correction of size‐specific dose estimates (SSDE) on patient dose estimation in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The relationship between the phantom position and absorbed dose in the right breast was studied using optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters and a simulated human

Potential Effects of Myrmecodia Pendants (Ant Nests) on Healing Bone Injuries
Myrmecodia pendens is a medical plant that can have a healing effect on bone injuries. Bone injuries can occur due to many things, including injuries due to infection, non-infection, degeneration and neoplasms.

Fully implicit time-stepping schemes and non-linear solvers for systems of reaction-diffusion equations [PDF]
In this article we present robust, efficient and accurate fully implicit time-stepping schemes and nonlinear solvers for systems of reaction-diffusion equations. The applications of reaction-diffusion systems is abundant in the literature, from modelling pattern formation in developmental biology to cancer research, wound healing, tissue and bone ...

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Biological fixation in anterior cruciate ligament surgery
Successful anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with tendon graft requires extensive tendon-to-bone healing in the bone tunnels and progressive graft ligamentization for biological, structural, and functional recovery of the ACL.

A long-lasting guided bone regeneration membrane from sequentially functionalised photoactive atelocollagen [PDF]
The fast degradation of collagen-based membranes in the biological environment remains a critical challenge, resulting in underperforming Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) therapy leading to compromised clinical results. Photoactive atelocollagen (AC) systems functionalised with ethylenically unsaturated monomers, such as 4-vinylbenzyl chloride (4VBC ...

We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

The Effect of Oral Isotretinoin on Bone Healing in Rabbit Rhinoplasty Model: An Experimental Study
Introduction:Since the age at which rhinoplasty is frequently performed is also the age at which acne is frequently seen, a person may be a candidate for both this surgery and isotretinoin therapy.

Computational Modeling of the Effects of Inflammatory Response and Granulation Tissue Properties on Human Bone Fracture Healing [PDF]
Bone healing process includes four phases: inflammatory response, soft callus formation, hard callus development, and remodeling. Mechanobiological models have been used to investigate the role of various mechanical and biological factors on the bone healing.
