BRACHYDACTYLY WITH ABSENCE OF MIDDLE PHALANGES AND HYPOPLASTIC NAILS
1. A seven-generation family is described which presented an autosomal dominant hereditary disorder characterised by brachydactyly, hypoplastic nails from the index to the little fingers, normal toe nails, absent middle phalanges in the fingers and ...

FOS3D: A Fluorescence‐Enabled Toolkit for Characterizing a Three‐dimensional Osteosarcoma Model
FOS3D describes fluorescent (F) osteosarcoma (OS) cells in a tri‐dimensional (3D) model. The study comprises three phases: development, where biofabrication parameters are tuned to achieve cytocompatibility and tumor‐specific mechanical properties in cell‐laden gelatin methacryloyl constructs; validation, where whole‐well fluorescence reading is ...

Beyond the Skin: Nail Clues to a Bone Disease
Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is a rare autoinflammatory bone disorder that predominantly affects children, and approximately 25% patients also present with an associated inflammatory condition. Most patients respond to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, but refractory cases may need corticosteroids, bisphosphonate therapy, or ...

This study unveils a pathogenic axis in oral cancer where NUDT21 suppresses a tumor suppressor network, prominently PTEN, via 3'UTR lengthening. To exploit this transcriptomic vulnerability, we developed a biomimetic Nano‐APA‐editor. By delivering CRISPR/Cas9, we reprogrammed the global 3'UTR landscape, restoring multi‐target tumor suppression and ...

An ultrasound‐activatable piezoelectric hydrogel reprograms chondrocyte mitochondrial epigenetics via the mTOR/GATD3A axis, clearing damaged mitochondria and alleviating osteoarthritis progression in both mouse models and human cartilage explants. ABSTRACT The avascular nature of cartilage hinders drug delivery for osteoarthritis (OA) therapy.

Reamed versus unreamed femoral nails
We performed a randomised, prospective trial to evaluate the use of unreamed titanium nails for femoral fractures. Of 48 patients with 50 femoral fractures 45 were followed to union; 23 with an unreamed and 22 with a reamed nail.
