Robust set stabilization of Boolean control networks with impulsive effects

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2018
This paper addresses the robust set stabilization problem of Boolean control networks (BCNs) with impulsive effects via the semi-tensor product method. Firstly, the closed-loop system consisting of a BCN with impulsive effects and a given state feedback ...

Stable Imitation of Multigait and Bipedal Motions for Quadrupedal Robots Over Uneven Terrains

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
How are quadrupedal robots empowered to execute complex navigation tasks, including multigait and bipedal motions? Challenges in stability and real‐world adaptation persist, especially with uneven terrains and disturbances. This article presents an imitation learning framework that enhances adaptability and robustness by incorporating long short‐term ...

Bisimulations for delayed switched Boolean control networks and its application in controllability

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2023
This paper investigates bisimulation relations of delayed switched Boolean control networks (DSBCNs), using the semi‐tensor product (STP) approach. Firstly, the notion of bisimulation in DSBCNs is formalized. Subsequently, based on the skeleton matrix of

Optimal FiniteHorizon Control for Probabilistic Boolean Networks with Hard Constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we study optimal control policies for Probabilistic Boolean Networks (PBNs) with hard constraints. Boolean Networks (BNs) and PBNs are useful and effective tools for modelling genetic regulatory networks.

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,

On the Origins of Toughness in Corymbia calophylla (Marri Tree) Nuts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We uncover the natural toughening mechanisms of the marri nut, including fiber pullout, crack deflection, and a viscoelastic matrix, which enable exceptional energy absorption and ductility comparable to Teflon, with an elastic modulus similar to acrylic.

Boolean versus continuous dynamics on simple two-gene modules

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the dynamical behavior of simple modules composed of two genes with two or three regulating connections. Continuous dynamics for mRNA and protein concentrations is compared to a Boolean model for gene activity.

State feedback control design for Boolean networks [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Systems Biology, 2016
Driving Boolean networks to desired states is of paramount significance toward our ultimate goal of controlling the progression of biological pathways and regulatory networks. Despite recent computational development of controllability of general complex networks and structural controllability of Boolean networks, there is still a lack of bridging the ...

High‐Fidelity Synthetic Data Replicates Clinical Prediction Performance in a Million‐Patient Diabetes Cohort

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study generates high‐fidelity synthetic longitudinal records for a million‐patient diabetes cohort, successfully replicating clinical predictive performance. However, deeper analysis reveals algorithmic biases and trajectory inconsistencies that escape standard quality metrics. These findings challenge current validation norms, demonstrating why a

Finite-Time Controllability and Set Controllability of Impulsive Probabilistic Boolean Control Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper addresses the finite-time controllability and set controllability of impulsive probabilistic Boolean control networks (IPBCNs). Firstly, using the algebraic state space representation (ASSR) method, the transition probability matrix of IPBCNs ...
