Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans

Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds.
