Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Analysis of Offshore Knuckle Boom Crane - Part Two: Motion Control [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 2013
In this paper design of electro-hydraulic motion control systems for offshore knuckle boom cranes is discussed. The influence of the control valve bandwidth along with the ramp time for the control signal are investigated both analytically with ...

Study on the Flexible Dynamic Analysis of the Wheel Loader Under Working Conditions and Comparison with Static FEA Results

open access: yesEngineering Perspective, 2023
The boom is the main body part of the mechanism for wheel loader earth-moving machines. It is critical that the boom is able to both meet the kinematic requirements and withstand the stresses that come from the breakout and lifting of the material during

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Discrete Adjoint Optimization Method for Low-Boom Aircraft Design Using Equivalent Area Distribution

open access: yesAerospace
This paper introduces a low-boom aircraft optimization design method guided by equivalent area distribution, which effectively improves the intuitiveness and refinement of inverse design. A gradient optimization method based on discrete adjoint equations

Conceptual design of low-boom low-drag supersonic transports [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper introduces a supersonic aircraft design model developed in a multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization (MDAO) environment. Low- to medium- fidelity methods are applied to the conceptual design model.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Driving Force and Blossoming Analysis of a Composite Triangular Rollable and Collapsible (TRAC) Boom Used in Aerospace Technologies

open access: yesAerospace
Deployable and foldable tape-spring booms are widely used in aerospace technologies, especially for large-scale membrane structures. Semi-circular (STEM) and lenticular (CTM) boom cross-sections were invented for specific applications since these ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
