Using cell‐free RNA to identify B‐ and T‐cell clonality for diagnosis and monitoring of B‐ and T‐cell neoplasms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using peripheral blood for determining B‐cell or T‐cell clonality is more reliable when we use cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) because cells release blood significantly more RNA than DNA. Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) of cfRNA allows us to evaluate fragment cfRNA and evaluate clonality reliably without the need for prior determination of the specific dominant

Comparing forwarder boom-control systems based on an automatically recorded follow-up dataset

open access: yesSilva Fennica, 2019
Crane work is the most time-consuming work element in forwarding. Hence, assist systems like boom-tip control are of interest. The first commercially available boom-tip control for forwarders was introduced in 2013.

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

An Edible Chitosan‐Based Acoustic Sensor for Sound‐Responsive Actuation in Edible Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an edible acoustic sensor for robotic food and edible robotics. Built from a chitosan piezoelectric film between gold electrodes, the sensor enables acoustic communication through ON/OFF keying. Integrated into an edible robot with pneumatically actuated arms and neck, it responds to high‐frequency tones.

Design of a demolition boom

open access: yes, 2020
Excavators are used for many purposes. Some of these are digging, drilling, breakingand demolition. A demolition excavator boom consists of 3-piece boom which isdifferent in form and construction from a 2-piece boom used in standard excavator. The aim of this thesis is to design a demolition boom for hydraulic excavator withoperation weight of 30 ton ...

A 3D Human Neuron‐on‐Chip Platform to Monitor Neuronal Injury Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel 3D Neuron‐on‐Chip model that can maintain human PSC‐derived excitatory prefrontal cortex neurons in 3D hydrogels and can be used to monitor neuronal injury responses over time. Results show injury‐induced acute neuronal excitotoxicity, declining neuronal connectivity, and the activation of a neurodegenerative, SASP‐like ...
