Control IC for Boost-Flyback Converter for Energy Harvesting Applications

2018 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Niigata 2018 -ECCE Asia), 2018
Conventionally, boost converter is used for high step-up energy harvesting system, but it is needed to be operated in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) because of the limitation of the topology. Therefore, it causes more conduction loss and current stress on the switch.

Modeling, simulation and experimental set-up of a boost-flyback converter

2015 IEEE 2nd Colombian Conference on Automatic Control (CCAC), 2015
In this work, a theoretical analysis of a boost-flyback converter is presented. The open loop operation and the inner dynamics of the coupled inductors are shown. A complete mathematical model, including the internal resistances of the inductors, is presented and simulated with MatlabĀ®.

Quadratic Boost-Flyback DC-DC Converter With Coupled Inductors

2018 13th IEEE International Conference on Industry Applications (INDUSCON), 2018
A high-gain dc-dc converter, which integrates a quadratic boost flyback converter through coupled inductors is proposed in this paper. The integration generates a converter with high-gain using only one switch. The structure allows using the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the first coupled inductor on the load.

Design of boost-flyback converter with small capacitor for energy-storage

The 2nd International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems, 2010
This paper presents the idea of utilizing large voltage ripple with small capacitance for energy storage in LED circuit, instead of large capacitance with small voltage ripple. A typical Single-Stage PFC converter with small capacitor is adopted.

Effect of parasitic components in the integrated boost-flyback high step-up converter

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
The increasing interest for renewable energy sources like those based on photovoltaic panels and fuel-cells have driven the power electronics community toward the study and development of high step-up dc-dc converters, able to efficiently interface the low voltage side of such energy sources with the high-voltage dc link side of the grid connected ...

A novel sinusoidal boost-flyback CCM/DCM DC-DC converter

2014 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - APEC 2014, 2014
This paper proposed a novel and simple sinusoidal boost-flyback continuous conduction mode (CCM) converter. This converter continuously produces half-sinusoidal voltage to a line frequency DC-AC inverter. This simple boost-flyback structure utilizes a coupled inductor to achieve a wider voltage gain range.

Soft-switched PWM high-frequency with PFC converter using boost-flyback converter interleaved

24th Annual International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2003
This paper proposes as a power factor correction pre regulator converter an AC-DC interleaved boost-flyback using a nondissipative snubber and operating at 100 kHz per cell. That is composed by switches working in ZCS and ZVS way, controlled by PWM. By using interleaved converters, an overall reduction of the boost inductor can be obtained, reducing ...

Examination and Analysis of Supply Current Control Strategies for Boost-Flyback PFC Converters

2021
In recent years, LEDs are gaining its popularity in many applications due to their characteristics like long lifetime, small size and high luminous efficiency. Since the LEDs are powered from AC source, they must meet the terms and condition as per the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61000-3-2 Standards regarding the harmonic content ...

Interleaved boost-flyback converter with boundary conduction mode for power factor correction

2011 6th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2011
This paper presents a new interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) boost-flyback converter to achieve power factor correction (PFC) and regulate DC bus voltage. The adopted boost-flyback converter has a high voltage conversion ratio to overcome the limit of conventional boost or buck-boost converter with narrow turn-off period.

Aggregated modeling and control of integrated boost-flyback high step-up converter

IECON 2011 - 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2011
Integrated boost-flyback converter (IBFC) is constructed with the cascade connection of a boost converter and a flyback converter, it has the advantages of high step-up output voltage and system isolation. Since the boost converter and flyback converter operate in different conduction mode while sharing main switch and dc-link capacitor, a theoretical ...
