Boost power factor correction circuits

Conference Record Southcon, 1994
In this paper, we present two modified boost converter topologies to be used as power factor correction circuits. Zero-voltage switching and proper transformer-core resetting are achieved utilizing the parasitic capacitance of the switch and the magnetization inductance of the transformer. Steady state analysis for the two circuits is given.

“Wow-Factors” for Boosting Business

2016
WOW, that’s great, what that company is doing. This comment is human factor in business context in its purest form. Wow-factor is something that won’t only separate the company from others, but separates it superiorly. Wow-factor is the factor that already exists in companies’ business and affects to people in many cases.

Two different non‐shoot‐through operating modes for generating changeable general boost factor in switched Z‐source inverters with modified modulation technique

IET Power Electronics, 2019
In this study, a new switching pattern for switched Z-source inverters (ZSIs) is proposed. By this technique, the switched ZSIs can generate general boost factor with different functions.

A boost unity power factor pre-compensator

2008 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2008
In this contribution, a passivity-based output feedback controller is developed for the unity-power-factor pre-compensation of a boost-type AC/DC power converter. In such applications, aside from load voltage tracking to a pre-specifled initial and final constant level, a vital additional control objective consists in keeping the input power factor ...

Oxygen sensor boosts growth factor signaling

Nature Medicine, 2009
Activation of hypoxia-inducible factor, a molecule central to oxygen sensing, can promote the survival and growth of tumor cells. New experiments dissect a pathway behind this effect—upregulation of the epidermal growth factor receptor ( pages 319–324 ).

Role of artificial intelligence on green economic development: Joint determinates of natural resources and green total factor productivity

Resources policy, 2023
The energy consumption structure is now shifting from using fossil fuels to using renewable energy. Thus it is crucial to research if decreasing energy use can genuinely boost green total factor productivity (GTFP) and how to reconcile the link between ...

Soft-switched high-power-factor boost converter

2004 10th International Workshop on Computational Electronics (IEEE Cat. No.04EX915), 2005
A novel implementation of the high-power-factor (HPF) boost converter with active snubber is described. The snubber circuit reduces the reverse-recovery-related losses of the rectifier and also provides zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for the boost switch and zero-current switching (ZCS) for the auxiliary switch.

A Digital Pulse Train Controlled High Power Factor DCM Boost PFC Converter Over a Universal Input Voltage Range

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
In this paper, a digital-based pulse train (PT) control technique for a boost power factor correction (PFC) converter operating in a discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is presented, which can achieve nearly unity power factor (PF) over a universal input

Resonant-boost-input three-phase power factor corrector

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1999
The paper presents a new three phase PFC circuit in which the power switches work in ZVS soft switching condition. The THD in the input current has been reduced about 4.5% and the output DC voltage is very close to the peak line voltage (for 204 V line, RMS three phase system, the output DC voltage is 300 V).

Experimental evaluation of active power factor correction techniques in a single‐phase AC‐DC boost converter

International journal of circuit theory and applications, 2019
The increasing need to improve power quality with the reduction of the harmonic content of current and voltage waveforms has been intensively analyzed in several studies, thus motivating the proposal of many high power factor rectifiers based on the ...
