Boosting factor estimation for LTE control channel

2014 IEEE Global Communications Conference, 2014
This paper considers the problem of unknown boosting factor estimation for Long Term Evolution (LTE) downlink control channel, whose signal can be boosted or deboosted for power control. The boosting factor needs be estimated and utilized to deploy advanced receiver algorithms.

Isolated boost circuit for power factor correction

Proceedings Eighth Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition,, 2002
To provide a 48 volt DC bus for distributed power systems, AC-DC power converters with high power factor and isolation are required. Instead of using a conventional two stage scheme which has a boost front end followed by a DC-DC converter, a boost derived topology is chosen to achieve high power factor, isolation, and voltage step down.

Quality Factor Boosting via Mechanically-Coupled Arraying

TRANSDUCERS 2007 - 2007 International Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems Conference, 2007
A mechanical circuit-based approach for boosting the Q of a vibrating micromechanical resonator has been demonstrated whereby a low Q resonator is embedded into a mechanically-coupled array of much higher Q resonators to raise its functional Q by a factor approximately equal to the number of resonators in the array.

A low common mode noise bridgeless boost-buck-boost power factor correction rectifier

2012 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2012
In this paper, a new topology for single phase power factor correction (PFC) rectifier is proposed with the intent to reduce the common mode current. The proposed PFC rectifier merges the boost and buck-boost converter by sharing an inductor and removes all the bridge diodes to simplify the circuit structure.

AdaMF:Adaptive Boosting Matrix Factorization for Recommender System

2014
Matrix Factorization (MF) is one of the most popular approaches for recommender systems. Existing MF-based recommendation approaches mainly focus on the prediction of the users’ ratings on unknown items. The performance is usually evaluated by the metric Root Mean Square Error (RMSE).
