Boric Acid Post‐Modified [Al]ZSM‐5 Zeolites: Properties, Acidity, and Ethanol/Ethene Conversion

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The modification of MFI zeolites with boric acid leads to the formation of framework boron, unstable surface species, and unbound deposits. Relevant BAS for catalysis and access to pores are strongly reduced. The boric acid is removed upon converting C1 or C2 alcohols and ethene. ABSTRACT The effect of boric acid post‐modification on [Al]ZSM‐5 zeolites

On the Effect of Radical Character, Substitution and Atom Encapsulation on the Volume of Icosahedral (Car) boranes1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
By means of quantum-mechanical calculations, we study the influence of the charge, spin, substituents, and atom encapsulation on the volume of the cages in icosahedral boranes and carboranes B12H12 2–, CB11H12 –, o-C2B10H12, m- C2B10H12, p-C2B10H12 and 1,

An Electrochemical Study of Frustrated Lewis Pairs: A Metal-free Route to Hydrogen Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
[Image: see text] Frustrated Lewis pairs have found many applications in the heterolytic activation of H(2) and subsequent hydrogenation of small molecules through delivery of the resulting proton and hydride equivalents. Herein, we describe how H(2) can

Rapid and scalable photocatalytic C(sp2)–C(sp3) Suzuki−Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl bromides with alkyl boranes

open access: yesNature Communications
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for drug design approaches that incorporate a higher number of sp3-hybridized carbons, necessitating the development of innovative cross-coupling strategies to reliably introduce aliphatic fragments. Here,

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy at a Crossroads: Translational Gap and Emerging Delivery Agents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This review surveys recent advances in boron delivery agents for BNCT, emphasizing the shift from classical small molecules to multifunctional nanocarriers and theranostic systems. By integrating targeting, imaging, and therapy, next‐generation boron compounds aim to bridge the gap between (bio)chemical innovation and clinical translation.

Emissive Liquid Crystalline Boron C,N‐Chelates: Synthesis, Self‐assembly, and Photophysical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Novel emissive liquid crystalline boron C,N‐chelates were prepared by integrating mesogenic units into the boron C,N‐core. Depending on the substituent at the boron, stable SmA or N mesophases were achieved while maintaining intense blue emission with excellent quantum yields (61%–100%).

CAAC Boranes. Synthesis and characterization of cyclic (alkyl) (amino) carbene borane complexes from BF3 and BH3

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2010
In situ formation of two cyclic (alkyl) (amino) carbenes (CAACs) followed by addition of BF3•Et2O provided the first two examples of CAAC–BF3 complexes: 1-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-3,5,5-trimethyl-3-phenylpyrrolidin-2-ylidene trifluoroborane, and 2-(2,6 ...

Chemo‐Enzymatic Route for Covalent Cellulose Fiber Dyeing

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This work presents a proof of concept for a chemo‐enzymatic approach to the covalent dyeing of cotton fibers. Laccase/TEMPO oxidation introduces aldehyde groups, enabling subsequent reductive amination with amino dyes. Excellent color homogeneity and wash fastness were demonstrated using acid red 33, highlighting the robustness of the approach and its ...
