Selective Scrambling of Phenyl‐Stannanes: Main Group Catalysis With Aromatic Phosphorus Heterocycles

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 4, April 2026.
Phosphinine–borane Lewis pairs catalyze the selective scrambling of phenylstannanes into SnPh4, H2, and elemental Sn. The reaction proceeds via transient SnH4 formation through reversible hydride and phenyl transfer steps within three interconnected cycles and enabled by an intrinsically weak P→B bond.

Rigid Ligand Environments at Beryllium, From Spectroscopic Probes to Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 10, 1 April 2026.
Due to the high rigidity and definition of beryllium scorpionate complexes, they can be used to study metal‐pseudohalide and ‐carbon bonds in detail. Furthermore, these compounds can be used to activate small molecules and exhibit unprecedented transmetalation reactions. In beryllium scorpionate complexes, three of the four available coordination sites

FeCl3‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Ynones from Silylated Alkynes and Acetic Anhydride

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
The synthesis of alkynones from silylated alkynes and acid chlorides, first reported by Birkhofer in 1963, remains a valuable transformation. However, its reliance on stoichiometric AlCl3 and corrosive reagents raises environmental and practical concerns. To address this, a greener protocol using catalytic FeCl3 and acetic anhydride is developed.
