Draft Genome Sequences of Bordetella hinzii and Bordetella trematum [PDF]
ABSTRACT Bordetella hinzii colonizes the respiratory tracts of poultry but can also infect immunocompromised humans. Bordetella trematum , however, only infects humans, causing ear and wound infections. Here, we present the first draft genome sequences of strains B. hinzii

Significant Decrease in Pertactin-Deficient Bordetella pertussis Isolates, Japan
Prevalence of pertactin-lacking Bordetella pertussis isolates has been observed worldwide. In Japan, however, we found that the frequency of pertactin-deficient isolates in 2014–2016 (8%) was significantly lower than the frequency in 2005–2007 (41 ...

A new topology of the HK97-like fold revealed in Bordetella bacteriophage by cryoEM at 3.5 A resolution. [PDF]
Bacteriophage BPP-1 infects and kills Bordetella species that cause whooping cough. Its diversity-generating retroelement (DGR) provides a naturally occurring phage-display system, but engineering efforts are hampered without atomic structures.

The conserved region of HA2 peptide of Influenza A virus was expressed on the surface of Protein VIII from M13 phage. Immunization of broiler chickens by this hybrid phage showed high levels of antibody responses, highlighting its potential as a promising tool for universal vaccine development against Influenza A virus.

Experimental pneumonia induced by a Bordetella parapertussis-like organism in the ovine and murine lung : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment (70%) of the requirements for the degree of Master of Philosophy in Veterinary Pathology at Massey University [PDF]
Thirty-four specific pathogen-free (SPF) Swiss mice were intranasally inoculated with a suspension containing about 3 x 10 7 colony-forming units (CFU)/ml of a B. parapertussis-like organism isolated from pneumonic ovine lung.
