The reaction of aluminum borohydride with tetraethylammonium borohydride

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1970
1. A complex borohydridoaluminate, [(C2H5)4N][Al(BH4)4] has been prepared by the reaction of aluminium borohydride with tetraethylammonium borohydride at room temperature. Its IR spectrum and x-ray photograph have been investigated. 2. The complex decomposes with the evolution of H2, C2H6, (C2H5)3N, metallic aluminum, and boron over the ...

Tetrabutylammonium borohydride and its complex with aluminum borohydride

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1971
1. Tetrabutylammonium borohydride was obtained by the exchange reaction of tetrabutylammonium bromide with excess sodium borohydride in ether isopropyl alcohol or benzene medium. 2. Tetrabutylammonium borohydride aluminate, [(C4H9)4N] [Al(BH4)4], was synthesized by the reaction of the tetrabutylammonium and aluminum borohydrides.

Carbene-Stabilized Beryllium Borohydride

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2012
The reaction of N-heterocyclic carbene, L:, with BeCl(2) quantitatively yields L:BeCl(2)1 (L: = :C{N(2,6-Pr(i)(2)C(6)H(3))CH}(2)). The carbene-stabilized beryllium borohydride monomer L:Be(BH(4))(2)2 is prepared by the reaction of 1 with LiBH(4). Compound 3, prepared by the reaction of 2 with Na(2)[Fe(CO)(4)]·dioxane, represents an unusual "dual ...

Borohydride as Magnetic Superexchange Pathway in Late Lanthanide Borohydrides

European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2019
The magnetic characteristics of a series of borohydride‐based systems, including binary α‐/β‐Ln(BH4)3 phases (Ln = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm) with direct Ln–HBH–Ln bridges and selected mixed‐metal systems, LiYb(BH4)4, NaYb(BH4)4, KHo(BH4)4, RbTm(BH4)4, with isolated Ln3+ ions embedded in [Ln(BH4)4]– anions are described for the first time using SQUID ...

Reductions with sulfurated borohydrides. I. Preparation of sulfurated borohydrides

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1968
Sodium borohydride reacts with sulfur at room temperature in the presence of appropriate organic solvents to give a sulfurated borohydride: NaBH2S3. The formulation of this hydride has been established by infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, and elementary analysis. Thermal decomposition and hydrolysis are reported.
