Molten KNO2 treatment induces a lowrefractive index disordered carbon shell on fluorescent nanodiamonds, enhancing fluorescence emission while preserving spin coherence. Machine learningassisted correlative TEMPL enables direct single‐particle resolution of this enhancement relative to air‐oxidized nanodiamonds of similar morphology, establishing a ...

Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

CO2 reduction with protons and electrons at a boron-based reaction center. [PDF]
Borohydrides are widely used reducing agents in chemical synthesis and have emerging energy applications as hydrogen storage materials and reagents for the reduction of CO2. Unfortunately, the high energy cost associated with the multistep preparation of

Growth of large single crystals of Rare Earth Hexaborides
Single crystal growth of several rare earth hexaborides has been carried out by the floating zone technique. A high power Xenon arc lamp image furnace was used for the crystal growth. Large high quality crystals of LaB$_{6}$, CeB$_{6}$, PrB$_{6}$ and NdB$

New and potential boron-containing compounds for treatment of Alzheimer's disease and cancers
In this study, new boron-containing carbamate compounds were synthesized and evaluated as potential acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors by in vitro and in silico analyses. The structures were characterized by spectroscopic analysis including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 11B NMR, and MS. The purities of the compounds were determined by HPLC analysis.

Engineering Strategies for Stable and Long‐Life Alkaline Zinc‐Based Flow Batteries
Alkaline zinc‐based flow batteries face persistent challenges from unstable zinc deposition, including dendrite growth, passivation, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution, which severely limit cycling stability. Current research addresses these issues through coordinated electrode structuring, electrolyte regulation, and membrane design to control zinc ...

Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.
