Meristic and biometric parameters of spined loach, Cobitis taenia (L.) (Cypriniformes, Cobitidae) from Zegrzyński Dam Reservoir [PDF]
The paper presents the results of studies on meristic and biometric parameters in spined loach, Cobitis taenia (L.) from Zegrzyński Dam Reservoir. Body proportions were determined as well as the relations between the parameters under study and body and ...

Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.

Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

The symmetry of the boron buckyball and a related boron nanotube [PDF]
We investigate the symmetry of the boron buckyball and a related boron nanotube. Using large-scale ab-initio calculations up to second-order Møller Plesset perturbation theory, we have determined unambiguously the equilibrium geometry/symmetry of two structurally related boron clusters: the B80 fullerene and the finite-length (5,0) boron nanotube.

Long ago, a global search for borane superfuels led fortuitously to the discovery of carboranes. Ken Wade recalls his own undistinguished part in the space race, and notes how carboranes revitalized boron hydride chemistry and modified our ideas of chemical bonding.

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...
