The regulation of plant lignin biosynthesis under boron deficiency conditions

Physiologia Plantarum, 2022
AbstractBoron (B) is a required micronutrient that is crucial for the growth and development of vascular plants. A deficiency in B is generally regarded as a limiting factor affecting agricultural production in many parts of the world. Boron is involved in the metabolism of plant lignin and additionally, B deficiency can lead to the excessive ...

Boron Regulation in the Oceans

Nature, 1969
IN the search for a general theory to explain the chemical composition of ocean water, emphasis has been put on inorganic equilibrium models which are themselves based on the postulate of a steady state oceanic system1–3. The major cation content and pH of ocean water at present are very similar to the values predicted by equilibrium calculations, and ...

Dwarf and tiller-enhancing 1 regulates growth and development by influencing boron uptake in boron limited conditions in rice

Plant Science, 2015
Boron (B) is essential for plant growth, and B deficiency causes severe losses in crop yield. Here we isolated and characterized a rice (Oryza sativa L.) mutant named dwarf and tiller-enhancing 1 (dte1), which exhibits defects under low-B conditions, including retarded growth, increased number of tillers and impaired pollen fertility. Map-based cloning

Boron Hybridization Engineering for Regulating Room Temperature Phosphorescence

Angewandte Chemie International Edition
Abstract Organic room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials have attracted widespread attention for their potential in both fundamental research and advanced technologies. However, their development is hindered by weak spin‐orbit coupling and nonradiative decay.

Hyperbranched polycarbosiloxane with dendritic boron cores: Synthesis, characterization, and structure regulation

Journal of Polymer Science Part A, 2006
AbstractThe synthesis, characterization, and structure regulation of hyperbranched polycarbosiloxane with dendritic boron cores were realized in this paper. First, dendritic boron core was synthesized via hydroboration with borane dimethylsulfide and bis(allyloxy)dimethylsilane. Then, the hyperbranched polycarbosiloxanes with dendritic boron cores were

Effect of oxygen on regulation of properties of moderately boron-doped diamond films

Chinese Physics B, 2022
Regulation of oxygen on properties of moderately boron-doped diamond films is fully investigated. Results show that, with adding a small amount of oxygen (oxygen-to-carbon ratio < 5.0%), the crystal quality of diamond is improved, and a suppression effect of residual nitrogen is observed.

Boron inhibits cadmium uptake in wheat (Triticum aestivum) by regulating gene expression

Plant Science, 2020
Various nutrients (Mg, Zn, Fe, Mn, Si, etc.) can supress cadmium (Cd) uptake and alleviate Cd toxicity, but the mechanisms are not the same. In this study, the molecular mechanism governing the effects of boron (B) on uptake of Cd in hydroponically grown wheat was characterized.
