Extremely high boron tolerance inPuccinellia distans(Jacq.) Parl. related to root boron exclusion and a well-regulated antioxidant system [PDF]
AbstractRecent studies indicate an extremely high level of tolerance to boron (B) toxicity inPuccinellia distans(Jacq.) Parl. but the mechanistic basis is not known.Puccinellia distanswas exposed to B concentrations of up to 1000 mg B L−1and root B uptake, growth parameters, B and N contents, H2O2accumulation and ·OH-scavenging activity were measured ...

Response of guava to boron and growth regulators spray
The effect of foliar spray of salicylic acid (SA) and boron along with traditional growth regulators like GA 3 , NAA and ethephon on growth, flowering and yield of guava variety Arka Amulya was investigated. Salicylic acid 100ppm recorded maximum increase in shoot length, number of leaves and leaf area over control.

Regulation of the boron transporter EgBor1 in Eucalyptus globulus: a plausible model [PDF]
Boron is a micronutrient that plays an important role in plant cell wall biosynthesis. Nevertheless, an excess of boron in the soil causes severe damage to the respiratory tissue of the plant. In Arabidopsis thaliana, the Atbor1 gene encodes a boron transporter that distributes this element throughout the plant.

Structural and functional insights into the mechanism of action of plant borate transporters
Boron has essential roles in plant growth and development. BOR proteins are key in the active uptake and distribution of boron, and regulation of intracellular boron concentrations. However, their mechanism of action remains poorly studied.

Explorations of mechanisms regulating ectomycorrhizal colonization of boron-fertilized pine [PDF]
This progress report discusses activities for the period 10/1/90-- 12/31/90. Continued data analysis and interpretation have been delayed; but will resume as time permits. Foliar cytokinin and mineral nutrient analyses will be performed following identification of satisfactory analytical procedures.

Boron doped nanocrystalline diamond temperature regulator for sensing applications [PDF]
AbstractIn search for a better way to monitor the hybridization and denaturation of DNA onto a diamond based sensor, precise knowledge about the conditions of the immediate surroundings is very critical. One of the factors that have a great influence on the stability of the measurements is the temperature of the liquid environment in which these ...
