Recent developments in alkyne borylations
Tetrahedron, 2014Within the past few decades, organoboron derivatives have become essential intermediates in organic and medicinal chemistry. As a matter of fact, while boronic acids have found wide applications as saccharide sensors1, 2 and 3 self-organizing systems,4, 5, 6 and 7 and medicine,8, 9 and 10 the unique reactivity of the C–B bond has profoundly affected ...

Electrophilicity and Nucleophilicity of Boryl Radicals
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017We carried out a survey of the relative reactivity of a collection of 91 neutral boryl radicals using density functional calculations. Their reactivities were characterized by four indices, i.e., the global electrophilicity, global nucleophilicity, local electrophilicity, and local nucleophilicity.

Quadruple Borylation of Terminal Alkynes
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019We present the first quadruple borylation reaction of terminal alkynes, affording functionalized 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(boronate) derivatives in a chemo-/regioselective manner. The methodology is operationally simple and a novel B-B bond activation without the need for a transition-metal catalyst.

A new class of stable molecules, α-boryl aldehydes, has been prepared from oxiranyl N-methyliminodiacetyl boronates by a 1,2-boryl migration with concomitant epoxide scission. A range of boryl imines, alkenes, alcohols, acids, enol ethers, enamides, and other functionalized boronic acid derivatives that are difficult or impossible to prepare using ...

Borylated reagents for multicomponent reactions
Drug Discovery Today: Technologies, 2018Over the past two decades, there has been an increasing interest in the therapeutic potential of organoboron reagents due to the discovery of bortezomib (Velcade). This has motivated synthetic chemists to develop novel routes for the preparation of heteroatom-rich boron-containing molecules (BCMs).

P-Directed Borylation of Phenols
Organic Letters, 2013Internal borylation occurs upon activation of aryl di-isopropylphosphinite boranes with HNTf(2) to give heterocyclic intermediates that can be reductively quenched to afford 6 or treated with KHF(2) to give the phenolic potassium aryl trifluoroborate salts 10.

Regioselectivity of the borylation of alkanes and arenes
Chemical Society Reviews, 2011The borylation of alkanes and arenes has become some of the most practical C-H bond functionalization chemistry. Most striking is the high regioselectivity of these reactions. Rhodium and ruthenium complexes catalyze with exquisite selectivity the borylation of methyl C-H bonds over methylene or methine C-H bonds.
