Radical borylation of vinyl azides with NHC-boranes: divergent synthesis of α-boryl ketones and borylated triazoles

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2022
A radical borylation of vinyl azides with NHC-boranes in the presence of tBuSH is described, which enables the divergent synthesis of α-boryl ketones and borylated triazoles with excellent functional group tolerance and a broad substrate scope.

Boryl ligands and their roles in metal-catalysed borylation reactions

Chemical Communications, 2009
In this feature article, we discuss selected recent aspects of metal boryl (M-BR2) chemistry pertaining, in particular, to the role of late and post-transition metal boryl complexes in various catalytic processes. The exceptionally strong sigma-donor properties of boryl ligands and their related nucleophilic behaviour are highlighted.

Hydrogenation of Borylated Arenes

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2018
AbstractA cis‐selective hydrogenation of abundant aryl boronic acids and their derivatives catalyzed by rhodium cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene (Rh–CAAC) is reported. The reaction tolerates a variety of boron‐protecting groups and provides direct access to a broad scope of saturated, borylated carbo‐ and heterocycles with various functional groups.

Photochemical Borylation of Nitroarenes

The Journal of Organic Chemistry
We describe a straightforward light-driven strategy for transforming nitroarenes to aryl boronic esters. This transformation proceeds under mild conditions at ambient temperature and tolerates a wide variety of functional groups. The approach offers an operationally simple and practical alternative for preparing aryl boronic esters directly from ...
