38 VITRIFICATION OF BOS TAURUS INDICUS AND BOS TAURUS INDICUS × BOS TAURUS TAURUS EMBRYOS PRODUCED IN THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF FETAL CALF SERUM

Reproduction, Fertility and Development, 2011
In vitro-produced Bos taurus indicus (zebu) and Bos taurus indicus × Bos taurus taurus (cross-bred) embryos behave differently when vitrified. The present experiment aimed to examine the effect of vitrification on embryos produced in the presence or absence of FCS.

Influence of cAMP modulator supplementation of in vitro culture medium on Bos taurus indicus embryos.

Theriogenology, 2019
The effectiveness of the use of natriuretic peptide C (NPPC) in the blocking of meiosis has already been proven in several species. However, there are no reports on the use of NPPC in the activation of metabolic processes in embryos.

Output/input differences among nonpregnant, lactating Bos indicus-Bos taurus and Bos taurus-Bos taurus F1 cross cows.

Journal of Animal Science, 1991
Nonpregnant F1 crossbred cows, progeny of either Hereford (H) or Angus (A) dams and sired by Brahman (Bm), Sahiwal (Sw), Pinzgauer (Pz), H, or A sires, were fed to maintain initial weight while rearing Charolais (C)-sired progeny for a period of 126 d in drylot commencing at about 48 d postpartum.

Heterosis in Bos taurus × Bos indicus crosses

Livestock Production Science, 1985
Abstract Data extracted from reports on Bos taurus × Bos indicus crossbreeding were used to estimate the amount of heterosis in these crosses. Traits studied were age at first calving, milk yield, lactation length, and calving interval. The estimates obtained were (percent of midparent means in parentheses): Age at first calving −3.2 to −4.4 ...

Pregnancy Rates to Fixed Embryo Transfer of Vitrified IVP Bos indicus, Bos taurus or Bos indicus × Bos taurus Embryos

Reproduction in Domestic Animals, 2015
ContentsThe pregnancy rates obtained after the transfer of cryopreserved in vitro‐produced (IVP) embryos are usually low and/or inconsistent. The objective of this study was to evaluate the pregnancy rates of Holstein, Gyr and Holstein × Gyr cattle after the transfer of vitrified IVP embryos produced with X‐sorted sperm.

Synthesis of primary Bos taurus - Bos indicus chimaeric calves

Animal Reproduction Science, 1983
Attempts to produce primary Bos taurus-Bos indicus chimaeric calves by aggregation and co-culture of zona-free morulae were unsuccessful. Consequently, the blastocyst injection technique was developed for ruminant embryos. Between one and six inner cell mass cells were injected into 24 blastocysts which were transferred to 14 cows.

Bos taurus and Bos indicus genome sequencing

2015
The goals of the study and relevance is to explore the phylogenetic relationships and domestication history of Chinese native cattle and other foreign breeds, identify selected genes and genetic variants related to adaptation, domestication, disease-resistance, growth, and meat quality in different cattle breeds.

Composition and Yield of Milk from Beef-Type Bos Taurus and Bos Indicus × Bos Taurus Dams

Journal of Animal Science, 1987
Yield, butterfat, protein, lactose and solids-not-fat of milk from mature dams (n = 128) representing eight Bos taurus and Bos indicus X Bos taurus breed types were evaluated approximately 60, 105 and 150 d postpartum. Breed type was a significant source of variation in milk yield at each stage of lactation. Average 24-h milk yields (kg) were: Hereford,

179 COMPARISON OF OOCYTE AND EMBRYO PRODUCTION AMONG BOS TAURUS, BOS INDICUS, AND INDICUS-TAURUS DONOR COWS

Reproduction, Fertility and Development, 2009
In recent years, Brazil has become the leading country in the world for the number of embryos produced in vitro (Thibier M 2009 IETS Embryo Transfer Newsletter 22, 12-19). This is partly due to the large numbers of Bos indicus animals in Brazil, making up about 80% of the total cattle.

Fertility on synchronized estrus in crossbred (Bos taurus × Bos indicus) heifers

Theriogenology, 1983
This study was performed in Western Maharastra (India). The 272 crossbred heifers were randomly allocated within herds to one of the four following groups: 1) silastic coils, 10 days treatment (n = 65); 2) Norgestomet implants, 10 days treatment (n = 71); 3) prostaglandin F(2alpha) two injections 11 days apart (n = 70); and 4) control (n = 66).
