Masses of Open-Flavour Heavy-Light Hybrids from QCD Sum-Rules
We use QCD Laplace sum-rules to predict masses of open-flavour heavy-light hybrids where one of the hybrid's constituent quarks is a charm or bottom and the other is an up, down, or strange.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Near-inertial ocean response to a typhoon on a continental slope in the Northern South China Sea
Typhoons are strong natural events that significantly influence the marine environment. In 2018, Typhoon Mangkhut traveled over a moored station with a depth ~1900 m on continental slope in the northern South China Sea, the near-inertial oceanic ...

Currents: Bad for Divers, Good for Corals [PDF]
In this lesson students will investigate deep-sea currents such as density and barotropic currents, which can be significantly accelerated near the ocean bottom or near large solid objects like seamounts.

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

New perspectives on deep-water sandstones: Implications
The emerging new concepts of sandy mass-transport deposits (SMTD) and bottom-current reworked sands (BCRS) have made a big impact on conventional turbidite concepts.

On the leakage problem of MIM capacitors due to improper etching of titanium nitride [PDF]
In this work, Metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitor structures are fabricated in a technology using TiN as electrode material. The electrical characterization revealed devices with small and large leakage currents.

Dilution in a dense bottom jet in cross currents
A 3-dimensional numerical model describing the dilution in the near field around dense vertical jets in a cross flow is formulated and validated against laboratory experiments. The validation shows that the model reproduces the flow pattern well, though the dilution is underestimated by 20%.
