Boundaries without boundaries [PDF]
Starting with a quantum particle on a closed manifold without boundary, we consider the process of generating boundaries by modding out by a group action with fixed points, and we study the emergent quantum dynamics on the quotient manifold. As an illustrative example, we consider a free nonrelativistic quantum particle on the circle and generate the ...

Scrambling in many-body quantum systems causes initially local observables to spread uniformly over the whole available Hilbert space under unitary dynamics, which in lattice systems causes exponential suppression of dynamical correlation functions with system size. Here, we present a perturbed free quantum circuit model, in which ergodicity is induced

Boundary-to-Boundary Flows in Planar Graphs [PDF]
We give an iterative algorithm for finding the maximum flow between a set of sources and sinks that lie on the boundary of a planar graph. Our algorithm uses only O(n) queries to simple data structures, achieving an O(n log n) running time that we expect to be practical given the use of simple primitives.

Minimax boundary estimation and estimation with boundary
We derive non-asymptotic minimax bounds for the Hausdorff estimation of $d$-dimensional submanifolds $M \subset \mathbb{R}^D$ with (possibly) non-empty boundary $\partial M$. The model reunites and extends the most prevalent $\mathcal{C}^2$-type set estimation models: manifolds without boundary, and full-dimensional domains.

Seeking the boundary for boundary extension
Boundary extension (BE) is a remarkably consistent visual memory error in which participants remember seeing a more wide-angle image of a scene than was actually viewed (Intraub & Richardson, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition 15:179-187, 1989). Multiple stimulus factors are thought to contribute to the occurrence of BE,

Alcohol Consumption Among Ghanaian Women of Child Bearing Age – What are the Correlates?
This paper examines the demographic and socio-economic correlates of alcohol consumption and drinking frequency among Ghanaian women aged 15-49 years. The study utilizes the 2008 Ghana Demographic and Health Survey data, which remains the most recent DHS

Boundary streaming with Navier boundary condition [PDF]
In microfluidic applications involving high-frequency acoustic waves over a solid boundary, the Stokes boundary-layer thickness $δ$ is so small that some non-negligible slip may occur at the fluid-solid interface. This paper assesses the impact of the slip by revisiting the classical problem of steady acoustic streaming over a flat boundary with the ...

Probabilistic analysis of getting into in restricted area by unmanned aerial vehical
The probabilistic analysis of crossing by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the boundary of the no-fly area is solved. Condition of stating of the fact of the violation of the boundary of the restricted area is to stand of UAV within the area during a ...

Du trimorphe aux frontières quasi topologiques
Topology is used in linguistics for semantic, lexical and grammatical descriptions. However, classical topology, with its notion of the limit, is insufficient. Therefore, to describe numerous semantic oppositions (such as “again” / “not again”, “already”

The southeast Mexican state of Chiapas is home to Tojolabal Maya populations. One of the mythical origins of this group takes place in Guatemala in the Cuchumatanes mountains, in an area inhabited by another Maya group: the Chuj.
