Mesh-based numerical implementation of the localized boundary-domain integral equation method to a variable-coefficient Neumann problem

open access: yes, 2005
An implementation of the localized boundary-domain integral-equation (LBDIE) method for the numerical solution of the Neumann boundary-value problem for a second-order linear elliptic PDE with variable coefficient is discussed.

Localized direct boundary–domain integro–differential formulations for scalar nonlinear boundary-value problems with variable coefficients

open access: yes, 2005
Mixed boundary-value Problems (BVPs) for a second-order quasi-linear elliptic partial differential equation with variable coefficients dependent on the unknown solution and its gradient are considered.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

A boundary integral formalism for stochastic ray tracing in billiards [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Determining the flow of rays or non-interacting particles driven by a force or velocity field is fundamental to modelling many physical processes. These include particle flows arising in fluid mechanics and ray flows arising in the geometrical optics ...

On the Modified Jump Problem for the Laplace Equation in the Exterior of Cracks in a Plane

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
The boundary value problem for the Laplace equation outside several cracks in a plane is studied. The jump of the solution of the Laplace equation and the boundary condition containing the jump of its normal derivative are specified on the cracks.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Existence and Uniqueness of the Solution for a Time-Fractional Diffusion Equation with Robin Boundary Condition

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
Existence and uniqueness of the solution for a time-fractional diffusion equation with Robin boundary condition on a bounded domain with Lyapunov boundary is proved in the space of continuous functions up to boundary.

Rothe's Method for the Heat Equation and Boundary Integral Equations

open access: yesJournal of Integral Equations and Applications, 1997
The paper deals with the exterior initial boundary value problem for the heat equation in two space variables in the finite time interval. Discretizing the time derivative by the Euler backward difference quotient (Rothe's method) a system \((B_n)\) of Dirichlet boundary value problems is obtained.
