Vortex generator design for unsteady flow separation control and dynamic stall suppression on pitching thick airfoils [PDF]

open access: yesWind Energy Science
This study experimentally investigates the performance of vortex generators (VGs) designed for steady stall control in preventing unsteady trailing-edge flow separation and dynamic stall during pitch oscillations occurring on inboard and midboard wind ...

Transient growth in the flow past a three-dimensional smooth roughness element [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This work provides a global optimization analysis, looking for perturbations inducing the largest energy growth at a finite time in a boundary-layer flow in the presence of smooth three-dimensional roughness elements.

The Study of Different Fairings for Fairing and Drag Reduction on theLow-wing Layout Aircraft

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2018
For the low-wing configuration aircraft, server flow interference exist at the wing-body junction, the boundary layer stack at the junction is the main reason for flow separation, the flow separation results in drag addition.

Effects of paving hot film on boundary layer characteristics of low pressure turbine at high speed and low Reynolds number

open access: yesKongqi donglixue xuebao
Surface thermal film measurement technology has advantages in turbomachinery internal flow dynamic measurement due to its high frequency response, good synchronization, and ability to accurately capture the continuous transient processes of boundary ...

3D Turbulent Boundary Layer Separation Control by Multi-Discharge Plasma Actuator

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
In a subsonic wind tunnel, a three-dimensional separation of a developed turbulent boundary layer was simulated on a swept wing flap model. A multi-discharge plasma actuator operating on the basis of dielectric barrier discharge was used to overcome the ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Experimental investigation of unsteadiness in transonic shock boundary layer interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Transonic shock wave/boundary layer interaction over a wall-mounted bump was investigated with specific focus on shock wave unsteadiness and identification of its source. A large separation bubble resulted of an interaction driven by a flow characterized
