Viscous effects on the position of cavitation separation from smooth bodies [PDF]
Flow visualization by the schlieren technique in the neighbourhood of a fully developed cavity on two axisymmetric headforms has shown the existence of laminar boundary-layer separation upstream of cavitation separation, and the distance between the two ...

The Study of Different Fairings for Fairing and Drag Reduction on theLow-wing Layout Aircraft
For the low-wing configuration aircraft, server flow interference exist at the wing-body junction, the boundary layer stack at the junction is the main reason for flow separation, the flow separation results in drag addition.

Statistical investigations of flow structures in different regimes of the stable boundary layer [PDF]
A combination of methods originating from non-stationary timeseries analysis is applied to two datasets of near surface turbulence in order to gain insights on the non-stationary enhancement mechanism of intermittent turbulence in the stable atmospheric ...

3D Turbulent Boundary Layer Separation Control by Multi-Discharge Plasma Actuator
In a subsonic wind tunnel, a three-dimensional separation of a developed turbulent boundary layer was simulated on a swept wing flap model. A multi-discharge plasma actuator operating on the basis of dielectric barrier discharge was used to overcome the ...

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Forcing boundary-layer transition on an inverted airfoil in ground effect and at varying incidence [PDF]
Presented at 34th AIAA Applied Aerodynamics ConferenceThe influence of the laminar boundary-layer state on a wing operating in ground effect at Re = 6 × 10 has been investigated using experiments with a model that provides two-dimensional flow and ...

Plate-injection into a separated supersonic boundary layer [PDF]
The structure of a supersonic laminar boundary layer near a flat plate is examined when fluid is injected into it with velocity of O(ε3U*∞) over a distance of O(L). Here U*∞ is the undisturbed fluid velocity, L the length of the plate and ε−8 is a representative Reynolds number.
