General boundary quantum field theory: Timelike hypersurfaces in the Klein-Gordon theory [PDF]
We show that the real massive Klein-Gordon theory admits a description in terms of states on various timelike hypersurfaces and amplitudes associated to regions bounded by them. This realizes crucial elements of the general boundary framework for quantum field theory.

Towards quantum field theory on spacetimes with boundaries [PDF]
Algebraic quantization has been applied on the class of globally hyperbolic spacetime for many decades, leading to remarkable results. Nonetheless, the presence of a boundary calls for a separate treatment, since, in general, it breaks global hyperbolicity and it requires the introduction of boundary conditions to the field equation. Although a general

Quantum field theory with boundary conditions at the horizons
A procedure to derive a unitary evolution law for a quantised black hole has been proposed by the author. The proposal implies several assumptions, which seem almost unavoidable to this author. We start off with the question how to describe the energy eigenstates of a black hole.

Quantum statistical correlations in thermal field theories: Boundary effective theory [PDF]
We show that the one-loop effective action at finite temperature for a scalar field with quartic interaction has the same renormalized expression as at zero temperature if written in terms of a certain classical field $ϕ_c$, and if we trade free propagators at zero temperature for their finite-temperature counterparts.

Boundary terms in quantum field theory and the spin structure of QCD
Determining how boundary terms behave in a quantum field theory (QFT) is crucial for understanding the dynamics of the theory. Nevertheless, boundary terms are often neglected using classical-type arguments which are no longer justified in the full ...

Boundary state in an integrable quantum field theory out of equilibrium
We study a quantum quench of the mass and the interaction in the Sinh-Gordon model starting from a large initial mass and zero initial coupling. Our focus is on the determination of the expansion of the initial state in terms of post-quench excitations. We argue that the large energy profile of the involved excitations can be relevant for the late time

Boundary bound states in integrable quantum field theories [PDF]
The purpose of this talk is to sketch some recent progress which has been made in calculating non-perturbatively the reflection factors for the sinh-Gordon model restricted to a half-line by integrable boundary conditions. The essential idea is to calculate the energy spectrum of boundary breathers in two independent ways; firstly by using the boundary
