Quantum field theories on manifolds with curved boundaries: Scalar fields [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1993
A framework allowing for perturbative calculations to be carried out for quantum field theories with arbitrary smoothly curved boundaries is described. It is based on an expansion of the heat kernel derived earlier for arbitrary mixed Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions.

On perturbative quantum field theory with boundary [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2004
Boundary quantum field theory is investigated in the Lagrangian framework. Models are defined perturbatively around the Neumann boundary condition. The analyticity properties of the Green functions are analyzed: Landau equations, Cutkosky rules together with the Coleman-Norton interpretation are derived.

BOUNDARY INTEGRABLE QUANTUM FIELD THEORIES [PDF]

open access: yesNon-Perturbative QFT Methods and Their Applications, 2001
A brief survey of recent results in the study of boundary integrable quantum field theories, indicating some currently open problems. Based on lectures given at the 2000 Eotvos Summer School in Physics on `Nonperturbative QFT methods and their applications'.

Boundary effects in quantum field theory

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1979
Electromagnetic and scalar fields are quantized in the region near an arbitrary smooth boundary, and the renormalized expectation value of the stress-energy tensor is calculated. The energy density is found to diverge as the boundary is approached.

Integrable quantum field theory with boundaries: the exact g-function [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2004
The g-function was introduced by Affleck and Ludwig in the context of critical quantum systems with boundaries. In the framework of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) method for relativistic scattering theories, all attempts to write an exact integral equation for the off-critical version of this quantity have, up to now, been unsuccesful.

Properties of RG interfaces for 2D boundary flows

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We consider RG interfaces for boundary RG flows in two-dimensional QFTs. Such interfaces are particular boundary condition changing operators linking the UV and IR conformal boundary conditions. We refer to them as RG operators.

Quantum Field Theory from First Principles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
When quantum fields are studied on manifolds with boundary, the corresponding one-loop quantum theory for bosonic gauge fields with linear covariant gauges needs the assignment of suitable boundary conditions for elliptic differential operators of ...

Quantum radiation by an Unruh-DeWitt detector in oscillatory motion

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Quantum radiated power emitted by an Unruh-DeWitt (UD) detector in linear oscillatory motion in (3+1)D Minkowski space, with the internal harmonic oscillator minimally coupled to a massless scalar field, is obtained non-perturbatively by numerical method.
