Effect of Free-Slip and No-Slip Boundaries on Isotropic Turbulence
2020The effect of free-slip and no-slip boundaries on isotropic turbulence is studied by direct numerical simulation (DNS). In each simulation, isotropic turbulence of fixed intensity was introduced at the bottom of the computational domain. The isotropic turbulence was generated in a separate large-eddy simulation (LES) that was running concurrently with ...

Based on the Navier slip model, a slip boundary format for the lattice Boltzmann method is developed for curve walls of which the shape is well considered. The main idea of this method is to convert the slip length into the slip velocity with a simplified algorithm.

On the no-slip boundary condition of hydrodynamics
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1983Abstract The slip velocity measured experimentally in flow through capillaries of sufficiently small diameters, with solid surfaces made repellent to the liquid, is examined. An answer to the question that whether the slip occurs directly on the surface of the solid or there exists a gap between the solid and liquid surfaces is sought.

On the application of slip boundary condition on curved boundaries
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2004AbstractHydrodynamic simulations of sloshing phenomena often involve the application of slip boundary condition at the wetted surfaces. If these surfaces are curved, the ambiguous nature of the normal vector in the discretized problem can interfere with the application of such a boundary condition.

Apparent slip over a solid-liquid interface with a no-slip boundary condition
Physical Review E, 2004We studied solid-liquid slip by a mean-field free-energy lattice Boltzmann approach recently proposed [Phys. Rev. E 69, 032602 (2004)]. With a general bounce-back no-slip boundary condition applied to the interface, liquid slip was observed because of the specific solid-fluid interactions.

A Note on Slip Condition on Corrugated Boundary
2002We study the flow of Newtonian fluid in a domain with periodically wrinkled boundary. On the corrugated boundary the slip (Navier's) boundary condition is imposed. Using the method of homogenization we replace the slip condition, posed on the rough boundary, by effective boundary condition posed on the middle surface of oscillating boundary.

STRETCHING FLOWS WITH GENERAL SLIP BOUNDARY CONDITION
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2010General slip boundary condition is used to solve the viscous incompressible flows induced by a stretching sheet. These flow problems corresponds to the planar and axisymmetric stretching. A similarity solution is developed by shooting method using Runge–Kutta algorithm.

On the boundary slip of fluid flow
Science in China Series G, 2005This paper presents a stress controlled boundary slip model and predicts the fluid-solid interface slip in a system of parallel sliding plates or a sphere approaching a smooth plane. The numerical simulation results are in striking agreement with the existing experimental observations. This model assumes that there is a limiting shear stress.

Lamellar boundary slip in polyethylene
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1966Abstract Mechanical relaxation in polyethylene specimens prepared in various ways has been studied at 0*67 c/s and by creep experiments of 35 min duration in order to elucidate the mechanisms of the α' and α' relaxations. Internal friction measurements were made from 20 to 120 °C and creep measurements from 14 to 85 °C.
