One-pass error bounded trajectory simplification
Nowadays, various sensors are collecting, storing and transmitting tremendous trajectory data, and it is known that raw trajectory data seriously wastes the storage, network band and computing resource.

Error Bounds for Computer Arithmetics [PDF]
This note summarizes recent progress in error bounds for compound operations performed in some computer arithmetic. Given a general set of real numbers together with some operations satisfying the first standard model, we identify three types A, B, and C of weak sufficient assumptions implying new results and sharper error estimates.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Three Point Quadrature Rules Involving, at Most, a First Derivative
A unified treatment of three point quadrature rules is presented in which the classical rules of mid-point, trapezoidal and Simpson type are recaptured as particular cases.

Bounding errors of Expectation-Propagation
Expectation Propagation is a very popular algorithm for variational inference, but comes with few theoretical guarantees. In this article, we prove that the approximation errors made by EP can be bounded. Our bounds have an asymptotic interpretation in the number $n$ of datapoints, which allows us to study EP's convergence with respect to the true ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Some Ostrowski type inequalities are given for the Stieltjes integral where the integrand is absolutely continuous while the integrator is of bounded variation. The case when |f'| is convex is explored.

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
