Error Bounds for Lagrange Interpolation

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1995
Consider an interpolation of functions \(f\in W_ \infty^ m [a,b]\) by Lagrange polynomials \(\ell_{m-1}\), \(\Delta(f)\) of degree \(m-1\) at the mesh \(\Delta\) of the interpolating nodes \(\{t_ j\}^ m_ 1\). Error bounds due to this approximation is evaluated as \[ L_{m,k} (\Delta)= \sup_{x\in [a,b]} L_{m,k} (\Delta,x)= {\textstyle {1\over m ...

Quantum error detection .II. Bounds [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2000
In Part II we show that there exist quantum codes whose probability of undetected error falls exponentially with the length of the code and derive bounds on this exponent. The lower (existence) bound for stabilizer codes is proved by a counting argument for classical self-orthogonal quaternary codes.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Optimal error correction against computationally bounded noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
. For computationally bounded adversarial models of error, we construct appealingly simple, efficient, cryptographic encoding and unique decoding schemes whose error-correction capability is much greater than classically possible. In particular: 1.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Robust Finite-Time $H_{{\infty}}$ Filtering for Uncertain Discrete-Time Nonhomogeneous Markovian Jump Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper investigates the problem of finite-time H∞ filtering for uncertain discrete-time Markovian jump systems. The parameter uncertainties in the dynamic systems are modeled to satisfy the norm-bounded condition.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Error Estimates for Approximating the Fourier Transform of Functions of Bounded Variation

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we point out an approximation for the Fourier transform for functions of bounded variation and study the approximation error of certain associated quadrature ...

Exploring Autoencoder-based Error-bounded Compression for Scientific Data

open access: yes, 2023
Error-bounded lossy compression is becoming an indispensable technique for the success of today's scientific projects with vast volumes of data produced during simulations or instrument data acquisitions.
